Even though there are no other musicians in 25-year-old Marie Noreger\u2019s family, she is not surprised she ended up as an artist and songwriter.<\/p>\n

Marie grew up in a creative family, her father being a photographer, and a house-dj in his younger days, her grandmother being a painter, and her aunt being a puppet maker. There was always music playing in the house, and her father taught her about obscure house-remixes from the 90s. She also attended concerts with her father from a very young age.<\/p>\n\n\n

What or who inspired you to begin a career in music?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was the music itself. There is nothing else as far as I know that makes me feel the same feelings when I\u2019m in the studio making music or when I\u2019m on stage performing it. I feel completely at one with the music when I\u2019m singing, it\u2019s a part of me and not an extension. That\u2019s the reason for why I want to pursue this career!<\/p>\n

What differs you and your sound from other artist in the music industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Up until now I\u2019ve chosen to follow the sound that I love and I haven\u2019t been driven by what\u2019s popular at the moment or focused on putting my music in any sort of category.  I don\u2019t really know if my music differs from others.<\/p>\n

If I can say anything I think it is really important to follow your own sound, even if it can feel a little scary at times! Music is just another outlet to express emotions – I love when I can feel the uniqueness of an artist.<\/p>\n

Your new EP \u2018DDVS (Discodoll in the Velvet Suit) is out now. Can you describe the creative process and inspiration behind the project?<\/strong><\/p>\n

With this project I wanted to focus on the fact that everyone lives their life by virtue of who they are. It\u2019s hard to decide by yourself in a world that is driven by concepts and expectations.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been using so much of my time overthinking and being scared of not being accepted for who I am. In the process of making this EP I set a goal to come back to that version of me that didn\u2019t care too much and was not afraid to just be!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m still working on finding my balance but it was a good healing process to work on this project. This EP is also an anthem to womanhood and to celebrate togetherness. Imagine what life we could create if we could all understand each other better and see each other on a deeper level.<\/p>\n
