It all started in church, doing praise and worship on a Sabbath morning and just getting together after church. When I was young, I loved Whitney and Mariah and just fell in love with music.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What differs you and your sound from other artists in the music industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is a uniqueness in my voice and that is why I chose commercial house as a genre because it just fits so well. Also, now that I have ventured to Amapiano I have found my unique voice. It\u2019s edgy and really speaks to me as an artist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your new single \u2018Take Me\u2019 is out now. Can you please describe the creative process and inspiration behind the release?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wow! Making this track was so much fun. I didn\u2019t know or even feel comfortable doing Amapiono but the team I worked with convinced me that this beat was for me. I listened to the beat a few times and the lyrics just came.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/1DSka4R2mUNXH5mR0TN66F?utm_source=generator\" width=\"100%\" height=\"380\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Throughout your musical career, have you experienced any \u2018wow\u2019 moments?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oh absolutely, my track <a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/eneviveakas\/i-dont-care-giggs-superstar-dr-duda-ft-genevive-1?utm_source=clipboard&#038;utm_medium=text&#038;utm_campaign=social_sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8216;I Don\u2019t Care&#8217;<\/a> with Giggs Superstar has been such a highlight. It\u2019s been 10yrs since we released this track and till today people love this song, they request it and I still get booked to come and perform it. It\u2019s a very special song.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In your own opinion, what is the most meaningful song you wrote? What makes you say that one?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It has to be &#8216;Spread Your Wings&#8217;. I wrote this song with a good friend and colleague who is no more. I also shot the music video with my daughter which really talks to the little girl in me. Making this was super special and the word of this song really speaks to people and dreams. I cry every time I have to perform it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I want to start off by saying &#8211; Chase your dreams, do what it takes to get you to achieve it. Even if you have taken a break, come back with a solid plan and do it for yourself and not for others. If you want to do music, do it for the right reasons. If this is how you intend on telling stories then do it but don\u2019t do it for fame and fortune because you won\u2019t be happy and that in itself comes with its own pressures. I really want to continue making music for my people because they have been asking and I do want to release a full project by 2023 sometime and maybe an E P sometime this year. I\u2019d love to tour and take my music to the World.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anything else you would like to add?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All I want to say is don\u2019t sleep on your talent and don\u2019t sleep on yourself. This life has taught us to be resilient and do the things that make us happy.
