Raised in Furuset, a suburb of Oslo. Her father – a musician himself – fed Maggie a diet of the greats: Ella Fitzgerald, Sting, Prince and Frank Sinatra.<\/p>\n

After a childhood filled with music, Maggie enrolled at the prestigious Lillehammer Institute of Music Production and Industries (LIMPI), where she homed in on advancing her song-writing, vocal and producing skills. And it wasn\u2019t long before she caught the attention of one of the school\u2019s weekly mentors, who swiftly signed on as Maggie\u2019s manager.<\/p>\n

Maggie takes a central position in her music from being a writer, producer and vocalist. With the typical one-sided proportion of more men to women being producers, Maggie is a reminder of what determination and craftsmanship creates, proving throughout her music.<\/p>\n

What or who inspired you to begin a career in music?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My father was a former musician and I was introduced to a number of great artists and musicians early on. I fell in love with creating a universe that only existed in my head. How a small idea could come to life and the joy of sharing it with others<\/p>\n

What differs you and your sound from other artists in the music industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having done most of it myself from songwriting to production, a fairly natural pattern emerged in my music that only I could create. I think it’s also about not putting yourself in a box where you get locked into a certain genre. Listening to your own gut feeling is more powerful than making music you think other people will like.<\/p>\n

Your new single, \u2018Bad Habits\u2019 is out now. Can you please describe the creative process and inspiration behind the release?<\/strong><\/p>\n

‘Bad Habits’ was written last year during the pandemic. The inspiration behind the song came from the fact that we often have a tendency to blame others when something in our lives doesn’t go as planned. We\u2019re quite good at turning ourselves into a self-effacing victim, which can become destructive in the long run. The production is pretty simple and minimalistic as I wanted the listener to focus more on the lyrics of the song.<\/p>\n
