Out now via Bankulli Entertainment, the label imprint of Beyonce and Kanye West collaborator Bankulli, \u2018My Heart\u2019 is the first taste of Konstance\u2019s highly anticipated debut EP In The Beginning arriving later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Written and composed by Konstance in collaboration with rising afrobeats sensation Majeeed (Tiwa Savage, Joeboy, BNXN) who also guest vocals on the track, \u2018My Heart\u2019 is a captivating R&amp;B and afrobeats fusion track that tugs at the heartstring with heartfelt lyrics and resonant songwriting that brilliantly capture the essence of young love, and the emotional longings of hopeless romantics. Sonically, the track is underpinned by beautiful vocal performances from Konstance and Majeeed, as well as lush R&amp;B melodies that are complemented by vibrant afrobeats and dancehall sensibilities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-92004\" src=\"https:\/\/nijimagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Konstance-002-Landscape.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"581\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nijimagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Konstance-002-Landscape.jpg 800w, https:\/\/nijimagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Konstance-002-Landscape-551x400.jpg 551w, https:\/\/nijimagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Konstance-002-Landscape-716x520.jpg 716w, https:\/\/nijimagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Konstance-002-Landscape-768x558.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Singing in English, Pidgin, and Yoruba, and exuding remarkable chemistry, Konstance and Majeeed wear their hearts on their sleeves in resounding fashion, with the 19-year-old Konstance showing an extraordinary artistry that far surpasses her young age, and Majeeed reminding listeners just why he is one of afrobeats finest new voices. \u2018My Heart\u2019 also comes with a music video directed by Bushboy Machiavelli (Ayra Starr, Bella Shmurda, Oxlade) and shot on location in Lagos, which perfectly complements the song\u2019s narrative of young love, and brings the track further to life.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the inspiration behind \u2018My Heart\u2019, Konstance says,<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cThis is one of my favourite songs have recorded so far. Because it\u2019s a love song, I&#8217;m sure people will be wondering if \u2018My Heart\u2019 is from a personal experience. The song is about giving your heart up for love, and although I have never been in love, I&#8217;m saying if I do give my heart up for love, I hope I won&#8217;t get hurt. Hence the line \u2018if I give you my heart, dakun ma je ko fo\u2019, which means \u2018if I give you my heart, please don&#8217;t break it\u2019, and putting Majeeed on the song was the best idea. I mean what&#8217;s a love song without Majeeed!\u201d<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>Konstance\u2019s rise to prominence has been nothing short of spectacular since her debut last year with the breakout single \u2018Melo\u2019. Her undeniable talents earned her the Breakthrough Talent prize at the 2023 Silverbird Awards, and she also comes co-signed by industry heavyweights like Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, and Kizz Daniel.
